Brief of the  Project

National Library of Pakistan, Islamabad is maintaining 10,000 rare books, 580 manuscripts, 74,000 volumes of Pakistan Collections and 15,000 volumes of Newspapers. The newspaper collection over the period of 51 years from 1966 to 2017, whereas Pakistan collection over the period 49 years from 1968 to 2017. The age of rare books span from 70 to 215 years. The rare books are unique in many aspects and mostly are not available from any source. Under this project the National Library of Pakistan is going to digitalize in phased manners literary heritage for posterity. This digitalized information will also help for researchers for sake of research and source of information for common readers.

Scope of the Project

Under this Project 15,00,000 rare books, 150,000 Pakistan Collections and 3,700,000 Newspaper collection will be digitalized and uploaded on the web
